Last year, the fourth generation of Henri Matisse’s family founded Maison Matisse to invite contemporary creatives to take a look at the painter’s work. The first collection, made up of limited edition vases, highlighted the universe of three confirmed talents: Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Jaime Hayon and Alessendro Mendini.
For its second chapter, Maison Matisse is launching its first permanent collection, in collaboration with the young Franco-Polish designer Marta Bakowski. Inspired by the iconic painting “La Musique”, painted in 1939, this collection is based on tableware and offers a clever play of lines, shapes and colors.
On the program: 14 pieces, consisting of dishes, bottles, plates and a jug. All made of ceramic and hand painted. A game of voluptuous curves that meet the pictorial details and the vivid colors of the famous painting, while emphasizing the graphic language of the designer. Beautiful achievements, carried out alongside specialized craftsmen, who will bring a poetic touch to the interiors of esthetes. Photos: Alice Cuvelier;
