Years ago Elisabeth Borger made a promise to her parents: one day they would live with the whole family in the Schoorl area. They often went on holiday in that region and enjoyed beautiful summers. Elisabeth: ‘Nature is very overwhelming here. The heath, the forest that smells so good in the autumn, the vast dunes and the sea with wild waves. If you drive from Schoorl to Bergen aan Zee, you will pass the most rural winding route in the Netherlands. When I cycle there, I have an instant holiday feeling. “
Elisabeth moves with her family to a detached house in Schoorl in 2011. Here she start her own business and do something that makes her happy.
Elisabeth and René are immediately in love when they see this detached house in Schoorl. ‘The 1930s appeal appealed to us very much. The old details such as a thatched roof, the way the bricks are bricked, the panel doors and the stained glass are style elements that make a living very attractive to us. I immediately saw that it was a very beautiful house where you had to do one thing: take everything out and whitewash, whitewash, whiten.”
In four weeks time, the entire house, from the front door to the attic, is painted white. “Painting everything white was the best decision we made. A completely different house emerged: sparkling and light. ” Jeltje Fotografie & Styling
