Luis Galliussi house in Ibiza is among carob trees, pines and prickly pears. After an expansion that includes a pool, the decorator invites us to discover Can Kaki, his private paradise.
It seems that God gave Luis Galliussi a piece of paradise to take care of him, so that it would preserve the excesses committed in the name of the island in luxury and upscale. The place looked like peaceful countryside between terraces, with carob, its cacti, olive trees and pines, preventions roses and scented of all colors and the vine.
On clear days, the sky is a formidable deep blue, and the air is clean and clear. Here Luis Galliussi bought more than ten years ago a small peasant ruin and rebuilt its walls whitewashed stone masonry and a modern farmer. On the porch, he set a screen for the dancing Mediterranean light and shadows are projected and change every hour. He also extended golden sand of Formentera creating a private beach.
He added a pool-pond and a pavilion including a living room with fireplace, and two bedrooms with bathrooms. New areas have also been built with cubes, as traditional Ibizan llocs. The house blends with the earth and shows its harmony of volumes: it is a beautiful building that does not scream and settles among the trees modestly. Photos Ricardo Labougle
